The Antonini 5540/L is a beautifully crafted traditional grafting knife, designed for precision cutting in horticulture, gardening, and orchard work. Made in Italy, it features a straight, mirror-polished 65mm carbon steel blade that delivers exceptionally clean cuts—essential for grafting success.
The slip joint mechanism ensures smooth blade operation, while the rich bubinga wood handle offers a warm, natural feel with excellent grip. Steel liners add durability, making this a dependable tool that’s as attractive as it is functional.
Carbon Steel Blade Care:
This knife is made from high-quality carbon steel, which keeps a sharp edge longer but requires additional care to prevent rust and oxidation. Avoid dishwashers and prolonged soaking. After use, clean with a damp cloth, dry thoroughly, and consider applying a light coat of vegetable oil to protect the blade. Remove any rust with steel wool before re-oiling. Over time, the blade will develop a dark patina, adding character and showcasing its age.
