Care Instructions

Cleaning tips to keep your Watermate Bladder fresh and clean:

• First Use & Disinfection: Fill with water, add a teaspoon or two of liquid bleach, and leave overnight before washing as usual.
• Odor Removal: Fill with water, add two teaspoons of baking soda, and leave overnight.
• Frequent Use: Leave full and store in the fridge or freezer.
• Infrequent Use: Ensure the bladder is dry between uses, especially after using non-chlorinated water. For long-term storage, add 2-3 drops of liquid bleach to water (room temperature).
• General Cleaning: Remove from your pack and scrub with warm soapy water. Dry, leaving the top open.
• Tube Cleaning: Scrub with a pipe cleaner or a rag on a soft wire after prolonged use. Ensure the bladder is completely dry inside and out before storing.
• Repair: If punctured, patch with a waterbed type patch or similar.
